Health in general – both mental and physical: He gets tired out more quickly since his encounter with dragon pox. Other than that he is physically healthy. His mental health is an entirely different matter (see secret)

Personality

First Impression (others have of you): A good bloke – solid, dependable, a little pompous
at times but generally a nice, affable man.

General Behavior: Ernie is a solid dependable type of bloke. He can be a little pompous but he usually means well. He can be somewhat judgmental but once his loyalty is given he doesn’t waver from it. He is very proud of his pureblood heritage but he also doesn’t deny that half-bloods and Muggleborn have their place in wizarding society.

He’s definitely got a bit of upper crust snobbishness about him, as he was born into a wealthy, privileged pureblood family, but it’s usually pretty obvious that he doesn’t mean to be rude. His parents never allowed him to become spoiled or a true snob and he always had at least something in the way of chores – mostly caring for the animals that were his. Ie: His owl, horse etc – and his father gave him certain responsibilities around the estate in the summer holidays since he was twelve. After his parents death he took over the estate when his parents were injured, he has become very sober and responsible, even a little harried at times.

Family History: The MacMillans are a proud pureblood family but one who have never been afraid of a bit of hard work. The family history shows that MacMillans have been in every House at Hogwarts though the large majority have ended up in Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw. Their estate is in Teignbridge in Devon and is quite a large one with a number of dependent families, both magical, Squib and Muggle. The Muggle families mostly just think that the family is a bit odd, like so many old, wealthy landed families.

The MacMillans have always worked the land themselves though they do employ an estate manager and groundskeeper for the Muggle side of things – these employees come from the Squib families so that they can more easily translate magical to Muggle and vice versa as they do employ a number of Muggle workers in addition to the house elves. The MacMillans do not share the usual bias against Squibs and Muggles.

Ernie took over the estate when his parents got sick. Unfortunately, their health never improved making them easy targets for the death eaters. Rastaban Lestrange and Lisa Turpin attacked the estate and killed both of Ernie’s parents, than raped him.
